FRANK HALL GREEN

Frank Hall Green is an award-winning producer, writer/director and entrepreneur. He is a partner/co-founder of Catch & Release Films with Oscar-winning producer Tom Heller (PRECIOUS, FOXCATCHER, MUD, 127 HOURS). Through their development fund and production company, Catch & Release, Tom and Frank developed and produced GONZO GIRL, directed by Patricia Arquette and starring Camilla Morone, Willem Dafoe, Sean Penn, Ray Nicholson, Leila George and Arquette. Based on the novel by Cheryl Della Pietra about her experience as assistant to Hunter S. Thompson, the film will be released in 2026 (Toronto Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival).

Frank’s latest film, RUN AMOK (aka THOUGHTS & PRAYERS) plays in competition at the Sundance Film Festival in 2026.  Directed by NB Mager and produced by Julie Christeas (Tandem Pictures), RUN AMOK is a satire recalling the worst event that a high school can experience; and stars Allysa Marvin, Patrick Wilson, Margaret Cho, Beth Marvel, Bill Camp and Molly Ringwald.

Also being released in 2026, the A MOSQUITO IN THE EAR starring Jake Lacy and Nazanin Boniadi, and written and directed by Nicola Rinciari, was produced by Frank along with Emily Dillard, Steve Stanley, Darren Dean and Jomon Thomas.

As a writer and director, Frank’s debut WILDLIKE, set in Alaska, starred Ella Purnell and Bruce Greenwood, played at over 200 film festivals, winning nearly 100 awards. It received a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 100% upon theatrical release in 2015.

Tom and Frank are also producing the script SEA ISLE with Rupert Friend; DESCENT with Tina Elmo and Wildwood (Robert Redford) with screenwriter Mark L. Smith. Catch & Release is also adapting A GATHERING OF SAINTS with Film Nation, based on the book by Robert Lindsay; the famous S. African Apartheid coming of age memoir South African memoir KAFFIR BOY; and the impeccably reviewed NY Times best-selling novel WE ARE NOT OURSELVES by Matthew Thomas.

Other films produced by FHG include THE OUTSIDE STORY starring Brian Tyree Henry; UNCONFORMITY with Jack Mulhern; the documentary GETTING NAKED: A BURLESQUE STORY; and Joel Fendelman’s Singapore feature, REMITTANCE.

Frank has an MFA from NYU Tisch School of the Art’s Kanbar graduate film school. He also graduated (BA) from NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study, where he was a photography major. Exiting school, Frank worked as a line producer and production manager, after working as a Teaching Assistant in the Tisch camera department. As his thesis for NYU Graduate Film school, Frank directed and produced a unique documentary, SHOOTING SCRIPT, a personal film about his experience being shot (with a gun, not a camera), in the stomach in New York City in 2005.  Frank has cut his teeth producing, writing and directing far too many short films and nonsensical projects. And at one time played all the roles a proper indie filmmaker should, such as shooter, editor, AD and boom operator.

Frank also has a foot in the world of Telecom as a partner in Clarion Communications. Before risking a career in film, Frank worked in Venture Capital and founded an incubator for start-up companies, and a nonprofit organization that lobbied on behalf of Arts and cultural institutions around Atlanta.  Frank grew up in Atlanta, went to boarding school in New England at the Eaglebrook School and the Taft School; and has lived and worked in Kenya and Kyoto, Japan as an ESL teacher. He is an avid backpacker and a member of MENSA.  He is on the faculty at the Film & TV department at Savannah College of Art & Design.  He lives on an island off the coast of Georgia, but is often in New York.
